Useful Links. This is a bit of a doozy.About a week ago, someone came into contact with a well known leaker on leak.this and also on Discord who was claiming to have 18 hours worth of minidv tracks that (mainly) Thom archived while the band was recording OK Computer.

According to the leaker, they took tracks from this for the OKNOTOK cassette. According to them, they got the whole 18 hours of material by trading some other rare/unreleased material for it.They provided previews.These previews have been passed around to a handful of people by now and everything seems legit, both from the previews, and from looking into this leaker's history. We originally considered pooling our money together, as our enthusiasm over the rare opportunity to share material of such high historical interest for a band we love peaked, but were concerned about the ethics of the situation and thought it would make sense to bring it to the larger RH community to determine what the right course of action is. We were uncertain how to notify the band.We are unhappy with the idea of this stuff getting sold off to high-paying trading circles and of someone profiting off of stolen material, considering they were asking upwards of $150,000 for the entire set, at $800 per studio track and $50 per live track.The leaker seems to be well known in some spaces and has a history of trading in very rare/high profile material.Here are all of the names of the snippets/previews they sent of the material they have. To access, check the profile of this account, there's a MEGA link in the About section. They claim to have multiple files, with 'probably 8 or 10 songs per file,' totaling 18 hours of material.

According to them, 'thom did a pretty good job of cutting out all the chatter.' .

Something got into someone's hands while all the OKC era masters were being transferred (as I seem to recall happening around.2015 I think), perhaps?Surely someone here knows how to contact the band/their management. Is Italo (longtime Peruvian fan who does have some management contacts) around here? There's also. Obviously it would be great to hear all of this, but such a murky situation at present isn't on. This version of Lift sounds a lot more polished and modern than the version that we got (which is still my second favourite Radiohead track ever).

The audio quality is just astounding.True Love Waits sounds like a more sombre jazzy feel akin to Talk Show Host, which a few of those unrecognisable scrapped tracks seem to have. Would be amazing to hear, although hopefully with their wishes.It would be awesome to get just a long slab release of just everything from the studio with no cuts, at some point far in the future. Although I enjoy the intentionally mysterious hodgepodge on the white cassette, the fact that there might be this much unreleased material, including 'holy grail' stuff like True Love Waits (which we know there is due to the tape loops being included, but not the final version) and the longer Paranoid Android, along with scores of demos for songs nobody even knew existed until this leak, is at least a little frustrating, considering how beloved the album is by critics, fans and historians. It would be wonderful if more of this was released somehow in the near future, even though it is extremely unlikely. We'll be like aging Bob Dylan fans, only getting to hear the original version of 'Lift' when we're 70.
